The Sonic secret menu works because a drive-in already keeps every component behind the window. Flavour syrups, sweet cream, chili, cheese sauce, jalapeno and ranch all sit within reach of a build. A request that combines them is a normal order phrased unusually, and what separates these is that regulars have given them names.
Ordering runs easier from a list of ingredients than from a nickname. A carhop who has never heard the name still knows what goes in the cup. Each table below carries the base item a build starts from, priced as priced as the base has it.
Sonic Secret Menu Drinks and Slushes
Most of these drinks change the syrup rather than the base, so a Sprite becomes a Pink Flamingo with three fruit syrups. Ocean Water is itself a modified Sprite, which makes Purple Sprite a modification of a modification. Every Sonic drive-in keeps the syrup rack these builds reach into. Sonic Sunrise and Slap Yo Mama both work over ice or through the slush machine. The Key Lime Pie Shake blends lime syrup into a cheesecake base.

Sonic Secret Menu Food Orders
Food builds reach for toppings the kitchen already keeps. Chili and cheddar come from the coneys, jalapeno and ranch from the sides, grilled ham and bacon from the breakfast line. Chili and cheddar bring milk with them. Extreme Tots takes chili cheese tots further with jalapeno, onion and ranch, and the Ring Leader Burger puts onion rings inside the bun.
