Restaurant allergen menus answer one question at a time: what does this item contain. Each page reads item by item, marking milk, egg, wheat, soy, peanut, tree nut, fish and shellfish against what a chain declares. Coffee counters and grills declare very different things.
Every mark comes from one published grid that names the allergen against the item, never from an inferred list. An under-declared allergen carries the only real risk here. Sophia W. Steadham checks each grid against that source, and every page names the day it was last verified.
What Allergen Menus Cover, Chain by Chain
Starbucks deals mostly in milk, soy and tree nut alternatives, plus whatever the bakery case brings in. Hardee’s and Burger King run wheat, egg and sesame through buns, breading and biscuits alike, and a stripped-back sandwich changes what it carries. Taco Bell leans on wheat, milk, soy and egg.
Shared fryers, shared steam wands and shared prep surfaces sit outside what any published grid records. Each page reproduces what the chain declares and stops there. Anyone ordering around a severe allergy still needs to tell the crew rather than read it off a table.
